# Can I export a list of my annotations?

### How do I export a list of my annotations?

After marking up your script, it's sometimes helpful to export your annotation data, separate from the script itself.

That's why Scriptation offers an export option called **Annotation Summary**. It generates a new PDF that lists every annotation in your script — copy/paste the data into any workflow you like.

### Generating an Annotation Summary

###### In Scriptation 6.0 and later

1. Tap the **three-dot menu** (**⋯**) at the top-right of the screen;
2. Under **Share Document**, tap **Quick Export**;

3. Tap **Annotation** → **Annotation Summary**, then tap **Share**;

4. From the share window, select a method of sharing or saving your new PDF.

###### In Scriptation 5.1.16 and earlier

1. Tap the **Share** icon on the Top Toolbar;
2. Tap **Annotation** → **Annotation Summary**, then tap **Share**;
3. From the share window, select a method of sharing or saving your new PDF.

### Working With the Summary

Open the PDF summary to view all of your annotations, or copy / paste the data into another program — perfect for creating a breakdown or chart.

|| 📝 NOTE: Annotation Summary exports a list of *all* annotations across *all* [layers](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/what-are-layers-and-how-do-i-use-them-1ozes9v/) in chronological order of when the annotation was created. If you'd prefer an Annotation Summary of only specific layers, [export a PDF of those layers](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-export-share-my-script-with-just-one-layer-qcnb39/) first, then generate an Annotation Summary from that PDF.
