# Can I rotate images, stamps and shapes?

Rotation is currently limited to **Text Boxes** and **pre-made Stamps**. **Photos**, **Custom Stamps**, **Shapes**, and **Pen/Marker** annotations can't be rotated within the app yet.

| ✅ TIP: Want to rotate a photo? Try this workaround — insert it into Apple's Pages app, rotate the image there, then copy/paste it into Scriptation.

While we hope to add more rotate functionality in the future, there are a few options for creating and rotating [icons](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/building-custom-icons-to-create-overheads-ebxseo/) within the app. You can also build custom shapes, graphics, or templates externally and save them as a [custom stamp](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-insert-a-graphic-as-a-custom-stamp-b0g6jd/).

| ✅ TIP: Use the [Style Palette](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/using-the-style-palette-inspector-1r35re7/) to give a [Text Box](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/typing-notes-with-text-boxes-and-callouts-1t835l5/) a background — it works just like a rotated rectangle!

|| 📝 NOTE: Older versions of Scriptation included additional rotate functionality. This had to be rolled back due to technical compatibility issues, but we hope to restore it in the future.
