# How can I share my file with Scriptation's Support team?

To share a file with Support, the fastest paths are: email attachment for files under \~10 MB, the [Secure Upload Portal](https://scriptation.com/troubleshooting) for files up to \~100 MB, or a cloud share link (iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive) for anything larger. Whichever method you use, please export an **annotated PDF with all Layers visible** so we see exactly what you see.

We take [file security](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-does-scriptation-handle-file-security-18bkkwz/) and [data privacy](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/is-my-personal-data-private-within-scriptation-1paq93x/) seriously. Any file you send is deleted from our systems once your issue is resolved.

##### Before you send: export an annotated PDF

So we can investigate against exactly what's on your screen, please [share your file as an annotated PDF](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-can-i-share-my-notes-or-email-my-file-181353n/) with **all Layers visible** before sending. That keeps your annotations intact in the file we receive.

##### Option 1 — Email attachment (under \~10 MB)

The simplest option: tap the **Send us an email** button at the bottom of this page and attach the file directly to your reply.

|| 📝 NOTE: Email providers (and our help desk) cap attachments around 10 MB. If your file is larger, use one of the options below.

##### Option 2 — Secure Upload Portal (up to \~100 MB)

For medium-sized files or short troubleshooting videos, use Scriptation's [Secure Upload Portal](https://scriptation.com/troubleshooting). You can upload multiple files in one go, then mention in your support email that you've uploaded.

|| 📝 NOTE: If you're uploading a screen recording and it gets rejected, check the video resolution — very low resolutions (e.g. 480p) may not be accepted. Re-recording at a higher resolution, or using the native screen recording tools linked in [How do I take a screenshot or screen recording?](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-take-a-screenshot-or-screen-recording-jbntj5/), should produce a file the portal will accept.

##### Option 3 — Cloud share link (for larger files)

If your file is too big for email or the Upload Portal and it's stored in a cloud service, create a **shareable link** and paste it into your support email.

###### iCloud Drive

1. From the Files app, **press and hold** on the file and tap **Share**.

| ✅ TIP: On macos, **right-click** the file and choose **Share → Share Link**.

2. Tap **Share File in iCloud**.

##### What to include in the email

To help us land on the right answer quickly, include:

* The device and OS version you're on;
* A short description of what you were doing when the issue happened;
* Any screenshots or screen recordings, if you have them.

##### If uploads or attachments won't go through

If you're having trouble uploading or attaching your file through any of the methods above, let us know — as a backup, we can create a private, one-time Google Drive folder shared directly with your email address, giving you exclusive editor access to upload your file to us securely.

If the Troubleshooting Portal itself isn't accepting a file (upload fails or gets stuck), don't keep retrying — instead attach the file directly to your reply on the support thread, or send it via a cloud share link (iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive) as described above.

##### If you don't have the file available

Even if you can't send your script or file right away, providing the following still helps a lot with troubleshooting:

|| 📝 NOTE: Avoid using Apple's Mail Drop feature to send videos to our support email — attachments sent this way have failed to come through properly. Please use the Secure Upload Portal or a cloud share link instead.

##### If you don't have the file available

Even if you can't send your script or file right away, providing the following still helps a lot with troubleshooting:

* Your device and operating system;
* The version of Scriptation you're using;
* A quick screen recording demonstrating the issue.
