# How do I deactivate or reactivate devices on Scriptation Enterprise?

|| 📝 NOTE: This article applies to [Scriptation Enterprise](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/what-is-scriptation-enterprise-tdmis7/) — the subscription tier for studios managing devices, permissions, and onboarding at scale. The free and [Industry Pro](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/what-is-scriptation-industry-pro-1jfjecg/) consumer tiers don't include a web-based Admin Portal.

Enterprise Admins and Production Admins can instantly deactivate or reactivate any device's access to Scriptation Enterprise from the Admin Portal — handy when a device is lost or stolen, a crew member leaves, or a production wraps and you're cleaning up.

A deactivated device loses access to every document on the Enterprise immediately. The user can't open files, sync layers, or use Live Layers. Reactivating restores access just as quickly.

### Deactivating a device

1. Sign in to the **Enterprise Admin Portal.**

2. Click **Productions** in the side menu.
