# How do I move slates left or right?

Fit more slates on a page by moving them left or right. Tap Move in the slate menu to adjust their position.

##### How do I move a slate?

1. After [generating](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-use-lining-tools-pzb2l3/) your lines, tap or click the slate box of the tramline you want to move. Then tap or click **Move**.

2. In the Shift Slate window, tap or click the highlighted slate, drag it to your new desired position, and tap or click **Shift**.

3. The slate moves to the selected location, and you can continue lining as usual.
