# How do I override device permissions on Scriptation Enterprise?

|| 📝 NOTE: This article applies to [Scriptation Enterprise](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/what-is-scriptation-enterprise-tdmis7/) — the subscription tier for studios managing devices, permissions, and onboarding at scale. The free and [Industry Pro](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/what-is-scriptation-industry-pro-1jfjecg/) consumer tiers don't include a web-based Admin Portal.

As an Enterprise Admin, you can override the permissions set at Enterprise or Production level for any individual device — useful when one user on a locked-down production needs an exception.

|| 📝 NOTE: For the permissions hierarchy and how overrides interact with broader settings, see [Roles and permissions in Scriptation Enterprise](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/roles-and-permissions-in-scriptation-enterprise-1l3j6yv/).

||| ⚠️ HEADS UP: Any permission change forces a restart of Scriptation on the affected device. The user sees a prompt to restart the app — they can't continue working until they do.

### Opening a device's permissions

2. Click **Productions** in the side menu.
