# How do I transfer notes from sides into a master script?

After taking notes on individual [Sides](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-create-script-sides-1rfarbu/), many users want to compile all of those notes back into a single master script.

|| 📝 NOTE: Scriptation's Note Transfer algorithm isn't really designed for this workflow, especially if the pages have been rearranged so they're no longer in script order. The steps below are the best way to attempt it, but results may vary.

1. **Reorder and re-lock the Sides file.** In your Sides file, open the [Page Manager](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/what-is-the-page-manager-k7edhm/), tap **Edit** → **Unlock**, drag pages back into sequential script order, then tap **Lock** → **Save**. | ✅ TIP: Don't see **Unlock** or **Lock**? Carefully use [Master Edit Mode](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-use-master-edit-mode-f5bv6c/) instead to assign your pages as "Added/Inserted", rearrange into proper pagination, assign back as "Native", and pick up at step 2.

2. From your Master Script, initiate a [Note Transfer](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-transfer-my-notes-1khpcd8/). When prompted to select your previous draft, choose your Sides file. Tap the blue box.

|| 📝 NOTE: If you see a "No Native Pages Detected" notification, lock your Sides file (or use [Master Edit Mode](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-use-master-edit-mode-f5bv6c/)) to assign the pages as "Native".

3. After the transfer, you can find your Sides notes in the [Layers](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/what-are-layers-and-how-do-i-use-them-1ozes9v/) menu:

4. Repeat this process for all of your Sides PDFs. When complete, you may want to [Merge Layers](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-to-merge-layers-1k9kad7/) to condense the layers from each different file into one.
