# I'm getting an Invalid Receipt error message. Help!

The "Error: Invalid Receipt" message means Scriptation can't verify your Industry Pro purchase with Apple. Most of the time, this is a connection or Apple ID mismatch — not a problem with your subscription itself.

|| 📝 NOTE: This is an **App Store** error, not a Scriptation account error. Industry Pro entitlement is tied to your **Apple ID** — separate from the Scriptation account you sign in to in 6.0 and later. See [How do I sign in to my Scriptation account?](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-sign-in-to-my-scriptation-account-1tcgk5t/) for the difference.

### Try these steps in order

Most of the time, one of these resolves it.

1. **Check your internet connection and Scriptation version.** Scriptation needs to phone home to Apple to verify the receipt. Make sure your device is online and running the latest version. See [Current Version and System Requirements](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/requirements-updates-and-version-info-1yryfi7/);

2. **Power off and back on both devices.** Restart the device that originated the Scriptation subscription **and** the device giving the error. Believe it or not — this often fixes it;

3. **Verify your Apple ID.** Make sure every device is signed in with the same Apple ID, and that this Apple ID is the one used for the Industry Pro purchase. See [How do I check which Apple ID is logged into my device?](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-check-which-apple-id-is-logged-into-my-device-1qu91lp/)

4. **Confirm your subscription is active** on each device. See [How do I check my subscription status?](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-check-my-subscription-status-cmfh5t/);

5. **Try Restore Purchases.** This reconnects your subscription if Scriptation has lost track of it. See [I purchased Industry Pro. How do I activate it on all of my devices?](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/i-purchased-industry-pro-how-do-i-activate-it-on-all-of-my-devices-10s0ghc/) for the walkthrough.

|| 📝 NOTE for Team & Team Studio users: This error message also appears when you try to activate a Team license through the Individual license flow. See [How do I activate a Team license?](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-activate-a-team-license-1cw8ail/) or [How do I activate a Team Studio license?](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-activate-a-team-studio-license-1uo7o7e/) for the correct path.

### Still seeing the error?

If you've tried all of the above and you're still getting the error, please use the **"Send us an email" button at the bottom of this page**. Include:

* Which device is showing the error;
* Which device you originally bought Scriptation on;
* Your [User ID and Device ID](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-find-my-user-id-or-device-id-for-support-153hpnt/) from the device with the error.
