# My script is jumping pages. What can I do?

If your script jumps to random pages while you're reading or annotating, the cause is almost always an accidental tap on the **Thumbnail Bar** at the bottom of the screen. The Thumbnail Bar is a fast way to scrub through your script — which means it's also easy to trigger by accident with a finger, palm, or stylus.

### Quick fix: hide the Thumbnail Bar temporarily

**Single-tap an empty area of the page** to hide the Top Toolbar and Thumbnail Bar. Tap again to bring them back. This is the fastest way to stop accidental page jumps while you're concentrating on a scene.

### Lasting fix: change or disable the Thumbnail Bar style

Switch the Thumbnail Bar to a less touch-sensitive style — or turn it off entirely.

1. Open [Settings](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/an-overview-of-the-settings-menu-1v2uicm/) and tap the **General** tab.
2. Under **View Settings**, find **Thumbnails**.
3. Choose one of:
* **Floating** *(default)* — small floating bar.
* **Docked** — full-width fixed bar at the bottom. Hardest to tap by accident.
* **None** — turns the Thumbnail Bar off entirely.

| 💡 TIP: On iPad, double-check your [Apple Pencil settings](https://help.scriptation.com/en/article/how-do-i-use-the-apple-pencil-on-ipad-vao8kb/) so palm rejection is working — it can prevent stray palm taps on the Thumbnail Bar while you annotate.
