Import modal not appearing when opening a document

On some fresh opens of Scriptation, a pop-up (like the newsletter sign-up or a notification) can interrupt the import process. After that happens, you may find that documents no longer open the import modal when you try to bring them into Scriptation — even after restarting the app.

This primarily affects devices running iOS/iPadOS 18 or earlier, and our team is working on a permanent fix. In the meantime, here's a quick workaround.

Workaround

  1. Open Scriptation on your device;
  2. Swipe up (or press the Home button) to minimize the app — keep it running in the background;
  3. Navigate to the file you want to import (from Mail, Files, a cloud service, etc.);
  4. Open the document — the import modal should now appear as expected.

✅ TIP: As long as Scriptation is running in the background, imports should work normally. You don't need to have Scriptation in the foreground — just make sure it hasn't been fully quit from the app switcher.

📝 NOTE: This issue primarily affects devices on iOS/iPadOS 18 or earlier. A permanent fix is on the way in an upcoming update.
