Import modal not appearing when opening a document

✅ UPDATE: This issue has been fixed as of version 5.1.14! To resolve it, go to the Scriptation Page in the App Store and tap Update.

On some fresh opens of Scriptation, a pop-up (like the newsletter sign-up or a notification) can interrupt the import process. After that happens, you may find that documents no longer open the import modal when you try to bring them into Scriptation — even after restarting the app.

This primarily affects devices running iOS/iPadOS 18 or earlier.

How to Fix

Update Scriptation to version 5.1.14 or later from the App Store. This update resolves the import interruption issue.

Workaround (if you can't update yet)

  1. Open Scriptation on your device;
  2. Swipe up (or press the Home button) to minimize the app — keep it running in the background;
  3. Navigate to the file you want to import (from Mail, Files, a cloud service, etc.);
  4. Open the document — the import modal should now appear as expected.
