How Can I Hear My Script Read Aloud?
📝 NOTE: This article describes the read-aloud workflow in Scriptation 6.0 and later, where reading, rehearsing, and recording are all part of Playback Mode. If you're on 5.1.16 or earlier, these features live in three separate modes — see What is Read Mode?, What is Rehearse Mode?, or What is Record Mode?.
Scriptation can read your script aloud in Playback Mode, which replaces what used to be three separate modes (Read, Rehearse, Record). Depending on what you're trying to do:
- For a table read or hands-free silent scrolling — see What is Playback Mode? for the basics, or How do I auto-scroll through my script? for silent scrolling specifically;
- To rehearse a specific character with Scriptation reading everyone else's lines — see How do I set up a rehearsal?;
- To record a video of yourself performing — see How do I record a self-tape audition?.
For better-sounding voices, see Are there better Playback voices available? for offline options, or How do I use premium AI Voices for Playback? for premium AI voices.
