How do I hear my script read aloud?

Scriptation can read your script aloud in Playback Mode — useful for table reads, rehearsals, self-tapes, or hands-free silent scrolling.

📝 NOTE: This article describes the read-aloud workflow in Scriptation 6.0 and later, where reading, rehearsing, and recording are all part of Playback Mode. If you're on 5.1.16 or earlier, see What is Read Mode?

Playback Mode replaces what used to be three separate modes (Read, Rehearse, Record). Depending on what you're trying to do:

For better-sounding voices, see Are there better Playback voices available? for offline options, or How do I use premium AI Voices for Playback? for premium AI voices.

📝 NOTE: The text-to-speech readback feature requires an Industry Pro subscription. If Playback isn't working for you, make sure you're subscribed to Industry Pro. Also, after opening Playback Mode, be sure to tap the speaker icon at the bottom center of the screen to unmute before pressing Play — otherwise the script will scroll silently.
