Is my script private when using AI Voices?

Yes. When Scriptation generates AI Voices audio, only the script lines being read aloud are sent to Google's Cloud Text-to-Speech service to generate the audio — and Google does not log, store, or train its models on what's sent. Scriptation doesn't keep a copy on its own servers either.

What gets sent

When you press Play with Premium AI Voices active, Scriptation sends Google's Cloud Text-to-Speech only the script text Scriptation is asked to read aloud for that session, along with the voice ID and speaking rate you've selected.

We do not send:

Your annotations, notes, drawings, or layers;
File names or file metadata;
Any other content from your Scriptation documents;
Personally identifiable information about you.

What Google does (and doesn't do) with it

Scriptation's AI Voices are powered by Google's Cloud Text-to-Speech — the same enterprise-grade service used by many production tools. Per Google's documentation, Cloud Text-to-Speech:

Does not log customer text or audio data. The service is stateless — nothing is retained after the audio is generated and returned;
Does not use your content to train AI models. Because nothing is logged, nothing is available to train on;
Does not use your content for advertising or any Google service other than generating the requested audio.

What Scriptation does (and doesn't do) with it

Scriptation does not store your scripts or generated audio on our servers. Audio generated by AI Voices may be cached locally on your device — so replaying a line you've already heard doesn't require another trip to Google's service. That cache lives only on your device and is never uploaded to Scriptation's servers.

Prefer to keep everything offline?

AI Voices requires an internet connection to reach Google's service. If you'd rather no network is involved at all — for a sensitive script, a remote shoot, or just by preference — Scriptation's basic voices run fully offline using Apple's built-in system voices.

Team Studio and Enterprise

Productions using Scriptation Team Studio and Enterprise licenses don't currently have access to AI Voices. If your production has additional security requirements beyond what's described above, please reach out to your production administrator or contact Scriptation Support.
