Auto-Highlight doesn't carry over to new drafts — here's why
Auto-Highlight doesn't transfer between drafts by design. When you run Note Transfer to a new script revision, your Auto-Highlighted characters, scene headings, and action lines won't carry over — instead, Scriptation regenerates them fresh against the new draft. That way they always accurately reflect the changes in the revised script, including new dialogue, renamed characters, and re-numbered scenes.
How to regenerate Auto-Highlight on your new draft
After Note Transfer completes:
- Open your new draft.
- Tap the Highlight icon on the Top Toolbar to open the Auto-Highlight sidebar.
- Re-toggle the characters, scene headings, or scene descriptions you want highlighted.
Scriptation regenerates the highlights against the new draft — accurate to any name changes, added dialogue, or renumbered scenes.
