Does Scriptation work with Think Crew?
Yes! We’ve partnered with Think Crew— the professional scheduling software for film and TV production— to create an integration that allows you to seamlessly transfer your marked-up scripts and breakdown information from Scriptation directly into Think Crew. By exporting your breakdowns via the Tagging reports menu directly to Think Crew, starting your production schedule has never been easier!
Whether you’re an assistant director, production coordinator, or producer, this integration can save hours of manual data entry and keep your production workflow smooth and efficient.
This integration automatically exports all the scene data would normally spend manually entering:
- Scene Number and Description
- Set Name
- Interior/Exterior Label
- Story Day
- Scene Page Count
- Day/Night Labels
- Cast/Character Name
In addition to the above scene data, this integration also exports all of your other tagging categories, allowing you to quickly build shooting schedules with department-specific needs for each scene!

Exporting your Script and Breakdowns from Scriptation to Think Crew
- On your Mac or iOS Device, open your script in Scriptation;
- Open the Tagging tool;
- Select Reports, and choose Think Crew from the App Export options;

- Name and save the .STC file (Scriptation Think Crew format) to your device. This file contains your script, tagged elements, and Scriptation scene data.
Importing your Script and Breakdowns into Think Crew
- In your Think Crew project, navigate to the Scripts page.
- Click Upload from your top toolbar;

- Upload the .STC file you just exported;
- Click the Upload button to complete your import!

Your script will then appear in Think Crew complete with all breakdown information intact. From there, you can immediately create schedules that automatically include all your tagged elements from Scriptation. Every scene arrives with its cast, props, locations, and notes exactly as you tagged them.
Updating Think Crew with New Script Revisions
- Open the new script draft in Scriptation;
- Use the Transfer feature to migrate annotations from the previous draft to the new one;
- After transferring annotations, Scriptation will prompt you to update Think Crew;

- Confirm the update by naming and saving your new .STC file;
- In your Think Crew project, navigate to your Scripts tab;
- Click “Upload”;
- Either drag and drop your .STC file or click to browse and select it.
And that’s all there is to it! If you want to see the new script reflected in your Think Crew schedules, simply follow the steps in Think Crew’s Help Desk article on updating schedules with new scripts.
