Why is the Share button missing?
Where did the Share button go?
In Scriptation 6.0, the standalone Share icon was replaced by the ⋯ Menu at the top-right of the screen. All of your sharing and export options now live there — so if you're looking for the Share button, check the Menu first.
To share or export your script:
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) at the top-right of the screen;
- Under Share Document, tap Quick Export (or another export option);
- Set your Page Range and Annotations options, then tap Share to open the standard share sheet — email, AirDrop, Messages, print, save, and more.

Still don't see sharing options? You may be on Team Studio or Enterprise
If your Share Document options are missing entirely (not just relocated), you're likely on a Scriptation Team Studio or Enterprise license, where sharing and exporting to anyone outside your production is intentionally turned off. This is one of Team Studio's security features, ensuring your files stay encrypted with AES256.
To share your annotations with other team members on your same production, use Shareable Layers or Live Layers.
If you still require full Share access — to send a script outside your production, for example — have your Team Administrator contact Scriptation Support to request a unique Team Admin code. While in Team Admin mode, documents are still stored with encryption, but sharing is re-enabled.
