How do I write or draw?

With Scriptation's Drawing and Freeform Highlight tools, you can write or draw freehand in your script — just like pen and paper — using an Apple Pencil or your finger. On a Mac, use your mouse or trackpad.

✅ TIP: The Annotation Toolbar shrinks and expands depending on your screen orientation or device. Press and hold any tool with a small triangle next to the icon to open a fly-out menu with additional tools.

  • Blend Mode
  • Opacity
  • Thickness
  • Order (used when the annotation sits on top of or below another annotation)

There are eight Color Presets, each of which remembers the settings you make while it's active:

Highlight

The Freeform Highlight (Marker) tool behaves like a highlighter marker:

✅ TIP: When using the Highlight tool, reduce the opacity in the Inspector so you can still read the text underneath.
