Current Version and System Requirements
Scriptation is regularly updated with new features, fixes, and improvements — so it's worth keeping the app up to date. Here's how to check which version you're running, and how to make sure you're on the latest.
Check your version
Scriptation 6.0 and later
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) at the top-right of the screen and choose Settings;
- The current version is displayed in the bottom-left corner of the Settings modal.

Scriptation 5.1.16 and earlier
Tap or click the File Browser:

At the bottom of the sidebar, you'll see the version information:

iPhone / iPad
The current version of Scriptation is 6.0.5 and requires iOS 16 or later. All versions of Scriptation 5.1.1 and later are compatible with iOS 26.
To update, go to the App Store and tap Update.
To enable automatic updates, open Settings and go to Apps → App Store, then switch App Updates to on:

Mac
The current version of Scriptation is 6.0.5 and requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.
To update, go to the Scriptation page in the App Store and click Update.
Updating your Mac's operating system
If your Mac is running macOS 12 (Monterey) or earlier, you'll need to update the operating system itself before you can install or update Scriptation:
- Before updating, it's always recommended to back up your Mac first.
- Follow Apple's guide on how to update macOS on your Mac.
- If your Mac is too old to install the very latest macOS, check whether it can at least run the oldest macOS version we currently support, macOS 13 Ventura — it can be downloaded directly from the Mac App Store.
If your Mac can't be updated past Monterey at all, unfortunately you won't be able to install or update Scriptation on that machine until it's replaced or the OS is upgraded.
To enable automatic updates, open the App Store. In the top toolbar, click App Store, then Settings (or Preferences, depending on your macOS version), and make sure Automatic Updates is checked.
