How do I add custom facing pages (images, PDFs, or blank pages)?

Use the Page Manager to insert custom Facing Pages alongside your script — floor plans, diagrams, overheads, storyboards, blocking pages, or any other visual reference you want opposite each script page.

📝 NOTE: Facing Pages is an Industry Pro feature.

📝 NOTE: This video shows a slightly older user interface, but the instructions are still accurate.

Open the Page Manager

  1. With your script open, tap the Page Manager icon on the Top Toolbar.

✅ TIP: If the Page Manager icon isn't showing in the Top Toolbar, tap the ... on the right to show additional options. To pin it permanently, see Customizing the Top Toolbar.

  1. Tap Edit.

  1. Tap Add.

Choose your source

  1. Pick the type of page you want to insert. Each source uses the same Add flow from step 5 — only the picker differs.

Photo, image, or screenshot

Tap the Photo icon, then:

  • Camera — Take a new photo and tap Use Photo to confirm;
  • Photo Library — Choose an image from your photo storage.

Scale or crop your image, then tap Done.

PDF (e.g. a floor plan or diagram)

Tap Select Source Document, then navigate to your file and tap it.

📝 NOTE: The Select Source Document window provides access to cloud folders and files already imported into Scriptation. If your PDF is in an email or another location, see Importing and opening scripts in Scriptation for how to import it first.

✅ TIP for Mac users: The Select Source Document window opens as a standard macOS Finder window. To learn more about Mac file storage, see Where are my files stored? (Mac).

Blank or template (Reports, Shot Lists, Storyboards)

Tap Select Source Document, then under the Library heading, choose Reports, Shot Lists, or **Storyboards **and pick a template.

✅ TIP: For details on what each template type offers, see How do I use Scriptation's Library?.

Place the page(s) in your script

  1. With your source selected, choose how to add it:

  • Add — Inserts the page(s) before Page 1;
  • Add after Page — Inserts the page(s) after a specific page (tap that page to select it);
  • Add as Facing Pages — Inserts the page(s) before every Native script page.

✅ TIP: Adding blocking pages? Choose any source, then tap Add as Facing Pages — your page is inserted between every script page in one step. That's the entire blocking-pages workflow.

  1. Tap Save to commit the new pages.

⚠️ HEADS UP: If you exit the Page Manager without tapping Save, your changes won't be applied. Always tap Save before leaving the Page Manager.
