How do I use Scriptation's Storyboard templates?

Scriptation's Storyboard templates let you insert frame-by-frame storyboards into your script — perfect for importing images from visualization tools like Artemis, Helios, or other shotmaking apps.

📝 NOTE: This video shows a slightly older user interface, but the instructions are still accurate.

Where Storyboard templates live

Storyboard templates live in Scriptation's Library, under the Storyboards heading. The Library article covers both ways to open it — from the File Browser, or from the Page Manager when you're inserting a page.

Templates are organized by frames per page, in both portrait and landscape.

Fillable vs Standard templates

Each Storyboard template comes in two versions:

  • Fillable templates are Fillable Forms — tap an image slot or text field to insert directly into the dedicated field (no resizing). Best for clean, consistent storyboards;
  • Standard templates allow full customization — drop in images at any size or position. Best when you need flexibility.

Adding a Storyboard to your script

To insert a Storyboard as a Facing Page, see How do I add custom facing pages (images, PDFs, or blank pages)? — pick the Blank or template source option and choose your Storyboard.

📝 NOTE: Need to remove a photo you've already added? See How do I remove a Photo from a Storyboard?.
