How do I use fillable forms and production reports?

Fillable forms let you type directly into text fields on a PDF β€” production reports, schedules, call sheets, daily reports, and any template with prebuilt fields β€” without annotating on top of the document.

πŸ“ NOTE: This video shows a slightly older user interface, but the instructions are still accurate.

Where to find fillable forms

You can use your own fillable PDFs, or pick from the templates in Scriptation's Library β€” production reports, storyboard templates with fillable image slots, shotlists, and more.

To insert a fillable form into your script as a Facing Page, see How do I add custom facing pages (images, PDFs, or blank pages)? and scroll down to the PDF section.

How form fields behave

All form fields display in blue. When you tap a field to enter data, it becomes yellow.

πŸ“ NOTE: Form field data exists separately from Layers and is viewable and editable from within any Layer β€” your entries don't move when you switch layers.

Two-Page view

To take notes on both your script and form simultaneously, turn on Two-Page view.

βœ… TIP: Want your form to the right of your script page? See How do I put facing pages on the right of my script?.

Scribble

You can use Scribble to handwrite notes directly into the form field…

…and have it automatically convert to text.

⚠️ HEADS UP: Form fields and their style (such as font size and alignment) cannot be changed within Scriptation. Adjust those in the form creator app (like Adobe Acrobat) before importing.

βœ… TIP: If you can't type into your form's fields, see Why can't I write in my form?.
