How do I manually sync a file to the cloud?
Most of the time, Scriptation syncs your files to the cloud automatically — but if a file isn't showing up on another device, or a recent change hasn't made it across yet, you can manually push the sync yourself. This works across all of our supported cloud services: iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive.
How to manually sync a file to the cloud
- Open Scriptation and navigate to your cloud folder (iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive);
- Find the script file you want to sync;
- Tap or click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the file;
- Select Sync to Cloud;

- Wait a few moments for the sync to complete.
Once the sync finishes, your file should be up to date in the cloud and available on any other device signed in to the same account.
When to use this
Manually syncing is useful any time you want to confirm a file is fully pushed to the cloud, including:
- A file you just edited isn't appearing on your other device;
- A file shows up on one device but not another;
- You're about to switch devices and want to make sure your latest changes are uploaded;
- Auto-sync seems to be stuck or delayed.
A quick reminder about how sync works
Scriptation syncs files automatically in the background, but it doesn't sync a file that's currently open on another device. Always close a script on one device before opening it on another — otherwise, your changes may not transfer correctly.
