I'm a Team / Team Studio Administrator. How do I deactivate a device?

How do I deactivate a device using a Team or Team Studio License Key?

⚠️ HEADS UP: Scriptation has discontinued the Team Studio plan. Current Team Studio plans will be grandfathered and remain active. Please refer to our Team and Enterprise plans for Team Studio features.

As a Team or Team Studio administrator, you may want to deactivate a device to free up that activation for a different device or user — for example, when a device is lost or no longer in use.

Here's what you need to know.

What is a Device ID?

A Device ID is the unique 12-digit code (the last 12 digits of a device's Hardware ID) that identifies a device in the Team Admin Portal.

Finding the Device ID

The user of the device whose activation you want to free up can find their Device ID in Settings and send it to you. See How do I find my Device ID? for the walkthrough.

✅ TIP: In Scriptation, tapping a Device ID copies it to the clipboard, making it easy to paste into an email to send to you.

Deactivating the Device in the Team Admin Portal

  1. Go to your account section of the Team Admin Portal in a web browser. Access information was provided in the confirmation email you received when setting up your Team or Team Studio account;

  1. Navigate to View Licenses, then Manage Sites;

  1. Find the row whose Site URL matches the last 10 digits of the Device ID you want to deactivate, then click Deactivate Site.
