Why am I seeing ads in Scriptation?
Yes — Scriptation shows ads. They come from partner studios, organizations, and apps we think our users will find interesting, and they help keep the app accessible on the free tier and affordable for filmmakers who buy the Industry Pro tier directly. Industry Pro and other paid subscribers see significantly fewer ad surfaces than free users.
Why we include ads
Many of Scriptation's users buy the app directly rather than through their production. These partnerships — with studios, organizations, and apps we think our users will find interesting — let us keep pricing accessible for students, freelancers, and individual filmmakers without raising subscription costs across the board.
Where you'll see ads
On Industry Pro (and other paid plans)
Ads are limited to three surfaces, all outside your active workflow:
- The Launch screen (when Scriptation first opens);
- The Notification Center;
- Occasional push notifications.
On the free tier
Free users see the three surfaces above, plus:
- A banner in the file browser;
- A short ad immediately after completing a transfer.
We were intentional about keeping ads off your active script and out of the menus and tools you use day-to-day.
Designed to stay out of your way
Ad surfaces are timed and gated so they don't interrupt what you're working on:
- Launch screen — shown at most once every 120 minutes, so reopening Scriptation throughout a working day won't repeatedly show you the same ad.
- Notification Center on Industry Pro (and other paid plans) — silent. New notifications appear in the Notification Center for you to check when you want, but nothing alerts you or asks for attention.
- Notification Center on the free tier — opens automatically on your next app launch, so you see what's new when you're already coming into the app — never in the middle of a task.
