Does Scriptation have a timecode stamp?

Yes! You can add a Timecode stamp to any page in Scriptation.

Adding a Timecode Stamp

Tap the Timecode icon on the Annotation Toolbar. A timecode annotation is placed on the page immediately.

✅ TIP: Don't see the Timecode icon on the Annotation Toolbar? Annotation tools get nested based on your device's size and orientation. Look for any icon with a small triangle in the bottom-right corner — long-press on iPad/iPhone or right-click on Mac to reveal its nested options. Timecode lives inside one of those nested menus on smaller screens.

The timecode annotation can be moved, resized, and copied/pasted like any other annotation. Tap the Timecode icon again to add another stamp.

Adjusting What's Displayed in the Timecode

In Scriptation 6.0 and later

  1. Tap the three-dot menu () at the top-right and choose Settings;
  2. Open the Annotations tab and select Timecode.

In Scriptation 5.1.16 and earlier

  1. Tap the three-line icon () at the top-left of the screen to open the File Browser;
  2. At the bottom-left of the panel, tap Settings;
  3. Open the Timecode settings.

From the Timecode settings:

  • Tap the color dot to open the color picker and change the text color. The field behind the text will be a lighter shade of the color you choose;
  • Choose between a 12-hour and 24-hour clock;
  • Toggle whether to show or hide the date.

📝 NOTE: The timecode annotation uses your device's clock. If it shows the wrong time or date, close Scriptation and adjust the time and date in your device's Settings.
