Can I have multiple accounts on the same device?
Only one Scriptation account can be active on a device at a time. There are two layers here — your Apple ID and your Scriptation account — and both follow the same one-per-device rule.
Apple ID
Scriptation purchases (Industry Pro, AI Voices) are tied to the Apple ID signed in to the App Store on your device. To use a different Apple ID, you'd have to sign out of the device-wide Apple ID and sign in with another — which changes a lot more than just Scriptation, so it's not something we recommend doing routinely.
Scriptation Account (6.0+)
In Scriptation 6.0, a Scriptation account is a separate sign-in used for cross-device features like AI Voices. Sign-in is handled through Apple SSO ("Sign in with Apple"), so the Scriptation account is tied to whichever Apple ID you choose during sign-in.
Only one Scriptation account can be signed in on a device at a time. To switch accounts, sign out of the Account tab in Settings and sign back in with a different Apple ID.
Team and Team Studio Licenses
Team and Team Studio accounts work by license key, with a set number of activations. Switching between two Team or Team Studio accounts on one device means:
- Deactivating the current license;
- Activating the other license.
Sharing Scripts Without Switching Accounts
You usually don't need to switch accounts to share files between users. Scriptation has several built-in ways to share scripts and annotations:
- Cloud Storage for syncing your own files across devices;
- Export to send a copy with all annotations baked in;
- Shareable Layers to send just your annotations;
- Live Layers for real-time collaboration with other Scriptation users.
