How do I create script sides?

To create Sides, open the Page Manager, tap Sides, select the pages you want, and tap Make — perfect for table reads, auditions, or shoot-day prep.

📝 NOTE: This video shows a slightly older user interface, but the instructions are still accurate.

📝 NOTE: Sides are an Industry Pro feature.

  1. Tap the Page Manager icon (the four-square grid) on the Top Toolbar:

  1. Tap Sides to open the Sides tool:

  1. Tap the pages you want in the sides file. When you're ready, tap Make:

  1. Enter a name for the new sides file and save it:

📝 NOTE: Creating Sides doesn't alter the original document.

  1. A file window opens. Choose the folder for your sides file and tap Select.

  1. Once saved, your sides file opens in a new tab:

Locking Sides

  1. Tap Edit:

  1. To rearrange pages, touch / click + drag them into the desired order:

  1. When the pages are in the right order, tap Lock. Locking makes Scriptation treat your Sides as Native script pages. To rearrange later, tap Unlock first — but avoid unlocking once you've added Auto-Highlight or Lining, as it can cause unexpected behavior.

✅ TIP: Auto-Highlight and Lining only work on locked Sides. See How do I lock or unlock a Sides file?

  1. When you're done, tap Save.
