How do I redeem a Scriptation Enterprise invitation?

📝 NOTE: This article is for users joining a production on Scriptation Enterprise — the subscription tier for studios. If you're using free Scriptation or Industry Pro, you don't need an invite; just install Scriptation from the App Store.

If your production has invited you to join their Scriptation Enterprise account, you'll receive an email with a button to activate Scriptation on your iPad, iPhone, or Mac.

⚠️ HEADS UP: Each invite link expires 24 hours after it's sent. If yours has expired, contact your Production Admin (the person who sent the invite) to generate a new one.

Before you start

  • Install Scriptation on the device you want to use, from the App Store. Scriptation runs on iPad, iPhone, and Mac.
  • Skip the two-week Trial.
  • Open the invite email on the device you want to activate. Each invite link can only be redeemed once — don't tap it on a different device than the one you want to use with Enterprise.

Activating Scriptation

  1. Open the invite email on the device you want to use, and tap Activate.

  1. Your default web browser opens. When prompted to open in Scriptation, tap Open.

  1. Scriptation opens and connects your device to your production. Scriptation will restart, and the next time you open the app, you're in Enterprise mode and ready to work.

What to expect after activating

  • Existing files: any files you had stored in On My iPad / On my iPhone in Scriptation on this device remain in the free or Industry Pro version of Scriptation. Enterprise activations store local files in a secure enclave that can only be accessed by activating with a production. Use a cloud connection to copy files to local storage or migrate from Team Studio to Scriptation Enterprise.
  • Permissions: your Production Admin may have restricted certain features for your production — sharing, exporting, certain cloud connections, and so on. Ask your Production Admin if you need access.
  • Other devices: each device needs its own invite link. If you want Scriptation Enterprise on a second device (e.g. you have both an iPad and a Mac), ask your Production Admin to send you another invite.

Signing out of Enterprise

If you need to switch back to your free or Industry Pro account — for example, to access personal files you had stored before joining Enterprise — you can sign out of your Enterprise activation from Scriptation's Settings.

To sign out, you'll need your Enterprise Key (a code your Production Admin or Enterprise Admin can provide). Ask your admin for this code before you start.

  1. In Scriptation, tap the three-dot menu (⋯) at the top right and select Settings.
  2. Tap the Account tab.
  3. Under Team, tap Log Out.
  4. Enter your Enterprise Key and confirm.

Scriptation switches back to consumer mode and your personal files become accessible again. To return to Enterprise on this device, ask your Production Admin to send you a new invite.

✅ TIP: If you're switching back temporarily to move personal files into your Enterprise account, see How do I migrate personal files into my Scriptation Enterprise account?.

Troubleshooting

Invite links expire 24 hours after being generated. Contact your Production Admin to send you a new one.

"I didn't get the email"

Check your spam folder first. If it's not there, ask your Production Admin to confirm the email address they sent the invite to and resend if needed.

The link can only be redeemed once. If you tapped it on a different device than the one you wanted to use, ask your Production Admin to generate a fresh invite for the correct device.

"Scriptation isn't recognizing me as part of an Enterprise"

The activation may not have completed. Try the invite link again (within 24 hours of when it was sent). If that still doesn't work, contact your Production Admin or send us a message.
