How do I migrate personal files into my Scriptation Enterprise storage?

📝 NOTE: This article is for users who already have a free, Industry Pro, or Team account with files they want to bring into Enterprise. If you're starting fresh on a device with no existing Scriptation files to migrate, see How do I redeem a Scriptation Enterprise invitation? instead. If you're on a grandfathered Team Studio plan, see How do I migrate from Team Studio to Scriptation Enterprise?.

My production just joined Scriptation Enterprise. How do I move my personal files in?

If you were using free Scriptation, Industry Pro, or Scriptation Team, you'll find that after activating Scriptation Enterprise, your previous files no longer appear in the "On my iPad" or "On my iPhone" section of the File Browser.

This is because the file storage for Enterprise is completely separate from the standard file storage. That separation is part of the extra security measures and encryption that come with Enterprise.

Here are three ways to access your old files.

  1. Switch back to your personal account temporarily. Sign out of Enterprise on your device to return to your personal storage, then re-activate Enterprise when you're done. Switching back and forth gives you access to both file sets without merging them.

  1. Move files one at a time via the Files app. From your personal account, export each PDF, selecting Save to Files: On My iPad (or On My iPhone). Then re-activate Enterprise, open Apple's native Files app, navigate to the "On My iPad" storage area, and import each PDF into Scriptation one by one.

  1. Move files in bulk via a cloud connection. Use a cloud connection (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.) to copy folders and files into the local storage of your Enterprise environment.

⚠️ HEADS UP: Some Enterprise accounts restrict certain cloud connections by default through their permissions settings. If you need a cloud connection that isn't currently allowed on your Enterprise, ask your Enterprise Admin or Production Admin to temporarily allow access while you migrate your files in. They can re-restrict the connection after your migration is complete.

What happens to my Industry Pro subscription?

If you had an active Industry Pro subscription before joining Enterprise, your subscription stays on your Apple ID — it isn't cancelled by activating Enterprise.

While your device is in Enterprise mode, you'll use Enterprise features (which include everything Industry Pro offers). If you don't expect to switch back to consumer mode on this device, you may want to cancel your Industry Pro subscription via the App Store or cancel your Team subscription to avoid being billed for an unused subscription.
