I have a Lost Layer. What do I do?

A Lost Layer appears when an annotation exists on your document that is somehow unassigned to a specific layer. This happens pretty rarely, and is actually a safety precaution to ensure that annotations are saved in the event of a technical issue.

To see which annotations are contained in your Lost Layer, tap Outline (the open book) on the Top Menu. The right tab shows the Annotation Outline.

What do I do now?

After reviewing the contents of your Lost Layer, you may want to Merge it back into another Layer.

Alternatively, if you see that the annotations within the Lost Layer are no longer needed, or are copies of annotations contained in another layer, go to the Layers menu, tap the ... next to the layer, and select Delete.
