What is Layer Optimization?

I got a prompt asking to Optimize Layers. What does that mean?

Layer Optimization is a quick process to minimize document file size, which saves you space on your device and keeps Scriptation running quickly.

Automated Optimization

While working, you may receive a notification if Scriptation sees your file size is getting unusually large.

You can tap Yes to optimize now, or tap Later to receive a reminder later on.

Optimization takes about a minute, but often much less. Timing varies based on how many annotations and Layers your document has.

NOTE: Optimization does not physically change anything within your document. It's just a simple file compression.

Manual Optimization

You can also manually Optimize Layers from the Layers menu.

Start by tapping the Layers icon.

From the Layers window, tapping ... will present a variety of Layer options. Tap Optimize.
