How to Import Layers

Did you just receive a Layer? It's easy to get started and import the file.

Layers is one of Scriptation's most popular features because it allows users to organize their notes into separate displays that can be toggled on and off.

Importing on iPad / iPhone

When you receive a Layer file, tap the attached .slf file.

Then tap the Open icon, and tap Scriptation.

NOTE: If you don't see Scriptation as an option, you may want to add Scriptation as an iOS Favorite App. For now though, swipe right and tap More to find Scriptation in the complete list of apps.

You'll then be prompted to select the file to import the Layer into. Scriptation will even highlight the appropriate file in yellow!

Ta-da! The layer has been imported! Now you'll be able to toggle these notes in your Layers Menu.

Importing on Mac

Start in Scriptation by opening the script file that is going to receive the imported layer.

Then, from the email containing the shared layer, download the attached .slf file.

From your download location, two-finger click the .slf file. Click Open With, and select Scriptation.

You'll then be prompted to select the file to import the Layer into.

Ta-da! The layer has been imported! Now you'll be able to toggle these notes in your Layers Menu.
