More Icons and Customizing the Top Toolbar
The Top Toolbar can only hold so many icons. You can pick the tools you use most often and tuck the rest into the Menu — and reconfigure anytime as you move from one phase of production to the next.
Finding Hidden Tools
If a tool isn't visible on the Top Toolbar, it's in either the More Tools menu (the + at the end of the centered tools) or the Menu (the ⋯ at the top-right). Tap either to find and use it.
Customizing the Toolbar
In Scriptation 6.0, the Top Toolbar is configured from the Toolbars tab in the Settings modal. You can open the Toolbars tab two ways:
From the Settings modal
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) at the top-right of the screen and select Settings;
- Go to the Toolbars tab.
From the Top Toolbar
- Tap the + at the right of the centered tools to open More Tools;
- Tap + Customize to jump straight to the Toolbars tab.
Centered Tools (1–5)
The Centered Tools section controls the icons in the middle of the Top Toolbar (minimum 1, maximum 5). Drag and drop to reorder them, or move tools between the Centered Tools and In Menu sections to control whether they appear on the toolbar or only in the More Tools menu.
Available Centered Tools:
- Layers — Create, view, and share separate layers of annotations;
- Highlight — Toggle on/off auto-highlighting;
- Annotate — Open or close the Annotation Toolbar;
- Transfer — Move your annotations between drafts;
- Tagging — Break down your script and create reports for your team;
- Playback — Read your script aloud, set up rehearsals, and record self-tapes (replaces Read, Rehearse, and Record modes from earlier versions);
- Lining — Automatically create tram lines and export reports;
- Analyze — Use secure AI to compare two drafts and have the changes explained.
File Action Tools (1–3)
The File Action Tools section controls the icons on the right side of the Top Toolbar (minimum 1, maximum 3). Drag to reorder, or swap items between the toolbar and the In Menu section.
Available File Action Tools:
- Search — Search for keywords in the script text or in annotations;
- Bookmark — Bookmark pages so you can access them quickly;
- Summary — Browse through bookmarked pages and annotations in a list;
- Page Manager — Add single blank pages, facing pages, or create sides.
