If your Apple Pencil is no longer in the Annotation toolbar, simply touch one of the annotation icons and use the Pencil to make a note or a line or shape. This should put the Pencil icon on the toolbar.

If the Pencil has stopped working:

Go to Settings > Bluetooth;
Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on;
Under My Devices, find your Apple Pencil;
Tap the Info icon:

5. Tap Forget this Device:



Reconnect the Pencil -- attach it to the side of your iPad and if the Pair button appears, tap it (or it may just pair automatically). If the Pair button doesn't appear, wait for a minute while your Apple Pencil charges;
Restart the iPad / iPhone.

When you open Scriptation, the Apple Pencil icon should be in the toolbar and the pencil should be fully functional.
