Typing Notes with Text Boxes and Callouts

Bad handwriting? No problem. We've got Text Boxes!

The Text tool can be found on the Annotation Bar, and allows you to enter a text box anywhere within your script.

Start by tapping the Text icon. Then tap a spot in your script where you'd like the text to be.

The keyboard will automatically load on mobile devices. From the keyboard bar, it's easy to adjust the Font, Size, Formatting, and Color of your text - but you'll be able to make even more adjustments later.

TIP: You can also use Scribble and Siri to enter contents into a Text Box.

NOTE: Having trouble with Text Boxes on on Mac? Click here.

Whenever you are ready, tap Done.

With your text typed into the Text Box, you now have options to:
Resize or Angle using the bounding box
Inspector for font, size, and color changes
Edit for editing the text
Copy for copying the text
Save for making this text a Saved Annotation
Layers for copying or moving the annotation to another layer
Trash

Tapping Inspector presents a ton of customizable options!

These include adjustments to Size, Font, Alignment, Color, Fill Color, Opacity, Style, and Order!

Text Box Callouts

A Callout is a style of text box that also includes a line for pointing to any location on the document.

Tapping the Callout icon changes your Text Box to a Callout.

To move the direction of the callout, tap + drag the point of the arrow. To make style changes, including the line end type, tap Inspector.
