How do I merge multiple layers of notes?

Combine two or more Layers into one from the Layers sidebar's 3-dot menu. Merging is permanent and can't be undone.


📝 NOTE: This video shows a slightly older user interface, but the instructions are still accurate.


📝 NOTE: Merging Layers can't be performed on Live Layers.


  1. Touch or click the Layers icon on the Top Toolbar:



✅ TIP: If the Layers icon isn't showing in the Top Toolbar, touch or click the plus sign on the right side to show additional icons. To pin it permanently, see Customizing the Top Toolbar.


  1. Touch or click the 3-dot menu at the top right of the Layers sidebar, then choose Merge:



  1. Select the Layers you want to merge and touch or click OK:



  1. Enter a name for the new merged Layer and save:



  1. The selected Layers are now combined into one, which appears at the bottom of your Layer list. The pencil icon marks it as the active Layer:



⚠️ HEADS UP: Once Layers are merged, they can't be unmerged. If you want to keep the originals as a backup, Duplicate them first (from the same 3-dot menu) before merging.
