How do I use Notes?

Notes are collapsible markers you can tap onto your script to hold typed comments — style them, move them, tag them, or move them between layers.

📝 NOTE: This video shows a slightly older user interface, but the instructions are still accurate.

Insert a Note

Select the Note icon on the Annotation Toolbar:

Then touch or click anywhere on your script. The note marker is placed at that spot and the note window opens, ready for you to type:

To show style preferences like colors and shapes, touch or click the Paintbrush icon in the lower right corner:

Delete a Note

Touch or click the note marker, then the Trashcan icon in the lower left corner.

Move a Note

Touch / click and drag the note marker to reposition it anywhere on the page.

Move or Copy a Note to another Layer

Touch or click the note marker, then the Layers icon in the upper left corner:

Choose Move or Copy, then select the layer.

Tag a Note

To assign a note to a tag category, touch or click the Tag icon at the upper left of the note and choose a category:

When you're done writing (you can also use Siri or Scribble), configuring, and/or tagging, touch or click Done to hide the note window.

✅ TIP: If you have a lot of notes, find the one you need with the Outline tool.
