Getting a new iPad
Congrats on the new iPad! Moving Scriptation over takes a few steps to ensure everything — files, annotations, and subscription — transfers cleanly.
Option 1: Quick Start (Recommended)
Apple's Quick Start lets your new iPad copy data directly from your old one. It's faster than iCloud Backup and is the path Apple recommends today.
- Power on the new iPad and place it next to your old one;
- Follow Apple's on-screen instructions on both devices — see Apple's Quick Start guide if you need details;
- When Quick Start finishes, Scriptation and your files will be on your new iPad.
Option 2: iCloud Backup
If you'd rather migrate through iCloud:
- On your old iPad, open the Settings app;
- Tap your Apple ID at the top;
- Tap iCloud;
- Under Apps Using iCloud, confirm iCloud Backup is toggled on;

- Tap iCloud Backup to see the last backup time. If you've worked in Scriptation since that time, tap Back Up Now to capture the latest changes;

- Once the backup completes, set up your new iPad. When you reach the Apps & Data screen, tap Restore from iCloud Backup;

- Let the iPad finish restoring fully before opening Scriptation. Depending on how much data you have, this may take a while.
Re-activating Your Subscription
Industry Pro
Industry Pro is tied to your Apple ID. After Quick Start or iCloud Restore completes, Scriptation should download from the App Store and reactivate automatically. If it doesn't, see I purchased Industry Pro. How do I activate it on all of my devices?.
Scriptation Team
Team licenses are tied to a license key with a specific number of activations. To avoid using an extra activation:
- On your old iPad, deactivate the Team license before retiring the device;
- On your new iPad, activate the Team license.
Team Studio
Team Studio works the same way as Team for activations:
- Deactivate Team Studio on your old iPad;
- Activate Team Studio on your new iPad.
