How do I manage my individual Scriptation account?

There are two parts to managing your Scriptation account.

  • Your Apple ID handles your subscription, billing, and any purchases through the App Store. This is how Scriptation has always worked.
  • Your Scriptation account (new in Scriptation 6.0) is a sign-in tied to your Apple ID via Apple's single sign-on. It's required to use AI Voices — your usage is tracked across all your signed-in devices so playback you start on iPad keeps counting on Mac. We recommend signing in even if you don't use AI Voices, since we'll be using this account for additional cross-device features in the future. See How do I sign in to my Scriptation account? for the walkthrough.

In Scriptation 6.0+, sign-in and sign-out live in Settings → Account tab. For a full tour of the rest of the Settings modal, see An Overview of the Settings Menu.

📝 NOTE: Signing in to your Scriptation account does not manage your subscription — billing is still handled through the Apple App Store.

Multiple devices, one subscription

Scriptation doesn't use a separate email/password login — there's no account to "switch" if you change email addresses. Your Industry Pro subscription is tied to your Apple ID, not to individual devices or emails. As long as the same Apple ID is signed in on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, your subscription carries over automatically — just download Scriptation on the new device and, if it doesn't unlock right away, use Restore Purchases (see I purchased Industry Pro. How do I activate it on all of my devices?).

Since there's no separate login, you can't "merge" two accounts or get charged twice by using Scriptation on a second device with the same Apple ID — you're always on the same subscription. If your files don't appear to be synced across devices, that's a files/storage issue rather than a subscription issue: files saved locally (under "On My iPad" or "On My iPhone") stay on that one device, while files saved to a cloud folder (iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive) will show up wherever you're signed into that cloud account. See How to sync files across devices with Cloud Storage to set that up.

If your subscription is part of a school or organization's Team/Enterprise plan, additional device activations are managed by your admin through activation links — reach out to Scriptation support if you need extra activation links resent or a seat transferred to a new email.
