How do I move, reorder, or rearrange pages?
Scripts in Scriptation have two types of pages, and these operations work differently for each:
- Added pages — pages you've inserted yourself (Facing Pages, Sides, copy-pasted pages, Library templates, custom PDFs or images) can be reordered freely in the Page Manager.
- Native pages — the original script pages, in their imported order, are locked by default to preserve Note Transfer. They can be rearranged in special cases using Master Edit Mode.
Reordering added pages
- Tap the Page Manager icon on the Top Toolbar.

- Tap and hold the added page you want to move. The page will lift slightly to confirm it's selected.
- Drag the page to its new location and release.

- Tap Save to confirm the new order.
Rearranging native script pages
Native pages are intentionally locked by default. Writers don't want their words rearranged, and Scriptation relies on script pages staying in their imported order so the Note Transfer algorithm can work effectively.
Scriptation has an advanced Master Edit Mode that allows Native page rearrangement in certain circumstances. Here are three common scenarios:
1. You received Revised Pages and not the fully collated script
Use Collate Pages to integrate your new pages, transfer the annotations, and automatically delete the old pages. You don't have to manually rearrange anything when you use Collate Pages.
2. Added pages can no longer be rearranged
Very rarely, Added pages get mismarked as Native. If this happens, use Master Edit Mode to reassign them as Added. After reassignment, you'll be able to rearrange them.
3. The above situations don't apply — you just need to rearrange certain pages
Carefully read the instructions for Master Edit Mode. This admin-level mode lets you reassign Native pages to Added, which makes them movable.
