My app is running slow. What can I do?
My app feels like it's running slowly or with a lag. What can I do?
Scriptation collaborates with Apple's operating system to create the best possible experience, given your device's available memory.
Even though Scriptation can handle large PDF files (100+ MB), performance can sometimes slow down when multiple scripts and other applications are open simultaneously. This slowing happens because the operating system throttles the device's speed to avoid overheating.
Here are a few steps you can take to optimize your experience.
Update the app: It's always best to run the most current version of Scriptation since we regularly improve the app. To update, click here.
Close additional tabs: Only have tabs open for files actively being worked on in Scriptation. This way, more memory can be allocated where it's needed.
Optimize your layers: Performing a Layer Optimization is a quick process to minimize document file size, which saves space on your device and keeps Scriptation running quickly.
Turn on Thumbnail Icon: Turning on the Thumbnail Icon setting in the Settings Menu displays a generic File icon instead of a preview of the top page of a document. This setting can improve memory usage on older devices.
Exit all background applications: By closing out applications running in the background, more memory is available for the foreground apps.
Power off / power on your device: By exiting out of Scriptation and restarting your device, you may resolve temporary issues the operating system faces.
Update your operating system: Scriptation is optimized to work on the latest iOS, iPadOS, and macOS versions. By keeping your overall device up to date, you can ensure that you have the optimal Scriptation experience. To update, go to the Apple Settings icon.
Upgrade the device: Consider investing in a newer device with faster chips and higher-performance memory.
