My app is running slow. What can I do?

My app feels like it's running slowly, or with a lag. What can I do?

Scriptation works in collaboration with Apple's operating system to create the best possible experience given your device's available memory.

Even though Scriptation is capable of handling pretty large PDF files (100+ MB), with multiple scripts and other applications open simultaneously, performance can sometimes slow down. This happens because the operating system throttles the speed of the device to avoid overheating.

Here's a few steps you can take to optimize your experience.

Update the app: It's always best to be running the most current version of Scriptation, since we regularly make improvements to the app. To update, click here.

Exit all background applications: By closing out of applications running in the background, more memory is available for apps being actively used.

Optimize your Layers: Performing a Layer Optimization is a quick process to minimize document file size, which saves space on your device and keeps Scriptation running quickly.

Close additional tabs: Be sure to only have tabs open for files that being actively worked on in Scriptation. This allows more memory to be allocated where it's needed.

Power off / power on your device: By exiting out of Scriptation and restarting your device, you may resolve temporary issues being faced by the operating system.

Update your operating system: Scriptation is designed to work on the latest versions of iOS and macOS. By keeping your overall device up to date, you can ensure that you have the optimal Scriptation experience. To update, go to the Apple Settings icon.

Upgrade the device: Consider investing in a newer device with faster chips and higher performance memory. For our recommended hardware, click here.
