How do I edit Info Layers like Dialogue Numbers?
Info Layers are regenerated automatically each time your script changes — every new revision, every customization tweak. That auto-regeneration is what makes Info Layers powerful, but it also means they aren't editable by default. To edit an Info Layer's individual annotations, duplicate it first — duplication creates an editable copy you can adjust like any other Layer.
How to duplicate an Info Layer
- Open the Layers sidebar and find the Info Layer you want to edit. Next to each Info Layer is a boxed plus icon, [ + ]. Tap it to begin duplicating;
- You'll be prompted to Copy Info Layer, with a note that "this will duplicate the selected layer and convert the data into editable annotations." Tap Yes;

- The duplicated Info Layer appears in My Layers as your active layer, and the auto-generated version is toggled off automatically.

What you can do with a duplicated Info Layer
Once duplicated, the copy is a regular editable Layer — you can:
- Edit individual annotations — move, resize, recolor, or delete them.
- Merge it into another Layer to combine your edits with other annotation work.
- Export or share it like any other Layer.
- Transfer it to a new draft along with your other annotations.

Want to start over?
If you've duplicated an Info Layer, made edits, and want to reset:
- Toggle the Info Layer back on in the Layers sidebar — it'll regenerate fresh.
- Delete the edited duplicate from My Layers if you no longer need it.
