How do I sync with Dropbox cloud storage?

To sync with Dropbox on iPad or iPhone, tap the File Browser, tap Add Connection, choose Dropbox, and sign in with your Dropbox account. On Mac, install the Dropbox app, and your Dropbox folders appear when you click Select File.

iPad / iPhone setup

Tap the File Browser on the Top Toolbar;

Tap Add Connection;

On the Add Connection pop-up, tap Dropbox;

Sign in with your Dropbox username and password. When asked to give Scriptation access to your files and folders, tap Allow;

Dropbox now appears under Connections in the File Browser. Move or copy your local files into Dropbox to back them up and get Dropbox's version history.

✅ TIP: Move works on one file at a time. To relocate multiple files or folders, use Copy.

Mac setup

If it isn't already installed, download and install the Dropbox app from Dropbox.com;
There's no separate Dropbox sign-in inside Scriptation — your Dropbox folders appear after you click Select File on the Scriptation home screen;

In the Finder window, open your Dropbox folder and select your file.

📝 NOTE: Can't find Dropbox? Type "Dropbox" in the Finder window's search bar, then drag the folder to the Favorites list in the sidebar. To pin it inside Scriptation, see How do I use Favorite Folders on Mac?

⚠️ HEADS UP: Files stored in On My iPad / On My iPhone, or on your Mac's Desktop or Downloads folder, only exist on that device and won't sync. Move them into Dropbox to use them on other devices.

Dropbox files aren't showing up — how do I reconnect?

Try these in order:

Restart your device — power it fully off, wait a few seconds, then turn it on and reopen Scriptation;
Check your internet connection — make sure the Wi-Fi network actually has internet access, not just a signal;
Disconnect and reconnect Dropbox — Tap the ... next to the cloud connection in the file browser and select Unlink, then add it again with the steps above. This refreshes the sign-in.

Does Dropbox work without Wi-Fi?

Yes. Each time you open a Dropbox script, Scriptation saves a local copy, so you can keep annotating offline, and your changes upload once you reconnect. Before heading somewhere without Wi-Fi, open the latest version of each script while you're still online. See Does Scriptation work offline without a Wifi or Data connection?
