How do I make scene numbers bigger?
Scriptation can automatically enlarge every scene number in your script, making it much easier to scan from a bird's-eye view — perfect for script supervisors, ADs, and anyone navigating long scripts quickly.
This is handled by the Large Scene Numbers Info Layer, part of Scriptation's Info Layers feature.
Turning on large scene numbers
- With your script open, tap Layers on the Top Toolbar;

- In the Layers side panel, find the Info Layers section and toggle on Large Scene Numbers;

- Scriptation finds every scene header and places a larger scene number over the left-side number.
Customizing large scene numbers
Open the Settings option at the bottom of the Layers side panel to choose the look of the large scene numbers:

- White on Black Box — White scene numbers over a black box;
- Black — Black scene numbers over a white box;
- Red — Red scene numbers over a white box.
Fixing incorrect or corrupted scene numbers
If a Large Scene Number is showing incorrect text (for example, if it displays a word instead of a number, or text is bleeding outside its background box), the quickest fix is to regenerate the Info Layer:
- In your Layers panel, go to the Large Scene Numbers settings and change the appearance (for example, switch from White on Black Box to Black, or vice versa).
- Exit the panel. When prompted to sync your Info Layers to the new appearance settings, select Yes.
- This regenerates the full Info Layer with the new appearance, correcting any bad edits to the scene numbers in the process.
- If you'd like to return to your original appearance setting, simply change it back and regenerate the layer again.
If your Large Scene Numbers were intentionally duplicated into an editable layer and you've made other annotations on that layer, you can instead: select and delete just the incorrect scene number and its background box using the Select tool, toggle Large Scene Numbers off and back on to regenerate the original (non-editable) version, then create a new duplicate editable layer, move the freshly regenerated number into it via the Layer option in the context menu, and delete the old duplicate layer.
