How do I add page counts to my script?

Scriptation can automatically measure every scene in your script in eighths of a page and stamp the count onto the page for you — no manual counting required.

This is handled by the 8th Page Counts Info Layer, part of Scriptation's Info Layers feature.

📝 NOTE: Info Layers are an Industry Pro feature.

Turning on page counts

  1. With your script open, tap Layers on the Top Toolbar;
  2. In the Layers side panel, find the Info Layers section and toggle on 8th Page Counts;
  3. Scriptation will automatically generate the page count for every scene and add it to either the top or bottom of each scene.

✅ TIP: You can change where the count appears (top or bottom of scene) and what color it shows in (black, red, or blue) under the Settings option at the bottom of the Layers side panel. Full details are in What are Info Layers, and how do I use them?

Page counts in Tagging reports and integrations

The same page count calculation Scriptation uses for the 8th Page Counts Info Layer also flows into your Tagging breakdown reports and partner integrations. That means Scene Page Counts are automatically included when you export to tools like Cinapse, Shamel Studio, Think Crew, or SetHero — you don't need to enter them manually.
