How do I assign a color to a layer?

Color-code your Layers in the Layers sidebar by tapping the color dot next to a Layer name and choosing from the color swatches. The color even carries through to a new draft after Note Transfer.


Color-coding is one of the simplest ways to make a complex Layers setup easy to scan — at a glance, you can tell which Layer is which.


  1. Tap Layers on the Top Toolbar:



✅ TIP: If the Layers icon isn't showing in the Top Toolbar, touch or click the plus sign on the right side to show additional icons. To pin it permanently, see Customizing the Top Toolbar.


  1. Tap the color dot to the left of the name of the Layer you want to colorize:



  1. The Color Selector opens. Tap the color you'd like to assign:



That's it — your Layer is now highlighted in that color, and the color carries through to a new draft after Note Transfer.
